Our playschool started Monday the 13th.  The weather here in Lombard, Illinois is still good..not too hot or cold.  It’s  the right climate for many outdoor walks, play and expeditions.  Until the weather changes we will do many activities outdoors, including taking our daily walks.  This week they found a cricket and went searching for frogs…..

Our focus this week was getting the children back in a routine.  We all know that they had no regular bedtime, wake up time or even time to focus on learning…but reality is – fun is over!!  At Lil Bebe Academy we have a schedule of activities and each hour is planned (unless someone gets sick or something).  Anyways this week we talked about how they enjoyed the summer, how to form friendships, who they are (self), and school roles.

Our sentence of the week was  ‘My favorite….belongs……’  Each child had to make up sentences daily using these words.  Our arts and craft was sewing and pasting.  We used foam art to past on a square foam then we used ribbon to sew around the foam.  The children did not use needles instead they used their fingers – this is a good fine motor skill.  The science activity was using vinegar and baking soda to make bubbles.  We got a lot of oohs and aahs.  Our Friday movie was The Lion King.
